First Grade- Pet Monsters

1st graders designed their own pet monsters. We created these with organic lines, went over the lines with sharpie, colored our monsters with washable marker, and then painted water over the marker to give it a water color effect.

Kindergarten-Texture Owls

We practiced step by step drawing by creating these owls. We then colored the Owls in with texture plates.

5th grade pumpkins

5th graders made pumpkin landscapes utilizing analogous and and complementary colors.

1st Grade- Texture leaves

This is a different approach on the texture leaf rubbings. We discussed texture and how texture is how something feels and how something looks like it feels. Together we drew a leaf in pencil and traced over it with sharpie. We then colored our leaves in using crayons. Next is he surprising part, it freaks out the kids a little. We crumble up our paper. We then smooth it out and crumble it up again and smooth it out. We then use a blue/glitter wash all over our paper. The wash soaks in on the folds making them more noticeable.
