3rd Grade- Greek and Roman Inspired Architecture

This is one of my favorite projects.

Day 1- We discuss characteristics of Greek and Roman architecture such as post and beam, arches, columns, and domes. Students use these elements to draw their own building on a 9 x 12 inch paper. After they finish with pencil, they trace over with Sharpie.

Day 2- We color a piece of 9 x 12 inch light paper with chalk pastels. We then cut out the building and glued it on the middle of our chalk pastel paper.
