3rd Grade- Figure Portrait Superheroes

One of the third grade objectives is to do a figure portrait in an action pose. What better art project than a superhero? This lesson took 4 class periods.

1. Study cartoons, discuss cartoon characteristics, draw the head and color.

2. Discuss superhero characteristics. Design bodies and color.

3. Discuss back grounds. Draw with sharpie and water color.

4. Complete anything that was not finished previous classes. Cut out head, body, and glue to background.
