Kindergarten Still Lifes

This project was inspired by Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh.
Together we discussed different types of objects that can be incorporated into still lifes. I then had a PowerPoint with different examples of art and students gave me thumbs up for still life and a thumbs down if it was not. We then specifically looked at still lifes by Van Gogh.

Next we set to work. We drew the table, then the flower pot, then 6 stems and colored them. Lastly we painted the flower petals on with gold paint (oooohhh-ahhhh). I've had students paint on the petals with brushes before, but this time we used finger prints. Both ways work great.
